There’s been a little bit of a buzz lately about “mermaids being the new vampires”. It would be kind of nice if that were the case; several years ago I worked up a proposal for a line of collectible figurines based on ethnically diverse mermaids. I got them copyrighted (copy-writ) under the name “Myrmaids) and shopped them around to a dozen of the leading collectibles manufacturers…and learned about the marketing strategy called “leading from the middle”.
Nevertheless I have all the original designs and a couple of prototypes safely filed away just in case there is an aquatic revival….which is also why I am showing just a few…
